So, I came on here to let everyone know that I went to see this amazing movie today. I felt as though it related to me in so many ways. Not because I’m a lesbian, but because I know how it felt dealing with a TOO overprotective mother that you were scared to come out to. My mother and I always bumped heads. & to be honest I never really came out to her. She just knew along with the rest of my family. I lived with her for 18 years of my life and I never ventured out. I was quiet and I did as I was told, but it made me timid at times. Alike is somewhat like me.. Once that freedom appeared she grasped onto it. I did the same.. she & I are both Daddy’s little girl. They know us, but our moms.. smh, not so much. & then Alike had a younger sister, that got on her nerves, but loved her dearly because she knew Alike would always protect her. It reminded me of my little sister Avery.. :) I can’t live without my little sister, just like I knew Alike’s sister couldn’t live without her. Pariah is an awesome movie.. if you are in the DC area, skip on down to E Street cinema and catch it before it’s gone. Or anywhere you are.. Don’t miss out.
